Music video: "Only One" - The Bora

Hey guys,
it's music video time on house in the sand.
This time I'll be showing you the brand new video by The Bora for their song "Only One".

Cover vs. Original #4

Hey guys,
as some of you may noticed I decided to post a new edition of "Cover vs. Original" every two weeks not every single week.
Why? Simply because there are so many blogposts waiting to go online right now and these posts just held them back.

Last weeks result:
(Song: "We Found Love")
The winner: Ed Sheeran
Again the cover version won. You guys are cover fans, aren't you?

Personal Art Giveaway [world wide] CLOSED

Hey guys,
I am so excited about this post.

As you can tell by the title it's a giveaway
When you've been blogging for a while and things get bigger there are some companies sponsoring giveaways every now and then. Of course that's an honour, it really is!
But if some collaboration doesn't feel that right and you doubt it's future then it would be senseless to jump in it. At least I think so.
Getting something for free is great - but I need to stand behind it 100% or I won't do it.

This giveaway is something I am in love with and I am proud to give away. It is not worth that much money. But it is personal and comes with a lot of thought and love.

So this is a music blog written by a girl that loves music and photography. And this giveaway kind of represents me:

Concert Review: Jim Kroft

Jim Kroft - Alte Seilerei, Mannheim | May 24th 2013

Watching Jim Kroft perform is magical.

Hey guys,
as most of you know I went to the Jim Kroft show in Mannheim yesterday. Of course it's time for the review now.

The second headline tour for JK but the first after releasing his third studio album "Lunatic Lullabies".

For me seeing Jim for the fourth time the expectations were pretty high - let's just say I didn't get disappointed.

Get To Know: Matt Swift

image: Matt Swift Facebook

Hey guys,
"get to know" time on HITS.
This time Matt Swift sat down to answer my questions.
Not only does he write great music but also great answers.

"Through My Weakness" - Jim Kroft

imge: Jim Kroft Facebook

Hey guys,
this is another very spontaneous post for HITS but I feel like the unplanned things in life make it special, so why not go with it?

This time I really want to show you a music video which made it's way to my "top three videos" after watching it for just one time.

The video is by Jim Kroft and it's for the song "Through My Weakness" off of his third studio album "Lunatic Lullabies".

Concert Review: Tom Odell

Tom Odell - Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld, Cologne | May 18th 2013

If his talent was food he could end world hunger.

Hey guys,
and with that being said you probably already get my point.
As most of you know I went to the Tom Odell show in Cologne yesterday (May 18th) not only because I discovered Tom's music a while ago and liked it but also because I got a press card to photograph and review this show.

The British singer / songwriter / piano man stopped in Cologne to play a show as part of his European tour.

And now here's a little review of the evening:

Album Review: DEMI - Demi Lovato

Hey guys,
I decided to write my very first album review. Honestly I don't think I'm good at this but I have to do it to get better, so please don't be all to harsh with me. ;) (bash me in the comments, haha.)

The album I want to introduce and (kind of) review is "DEMI" by Demi Lovato.

Demi Lovato, actress, singer and songwriter, from Texas (US) just released her forth studio album called "DEMI". The album contains 13 songs, the Walmart Deluxe Edition* 14 songs.

Cover vs. Original #3

Hey guys,
it's week three of the "Cover vs. Original" series and I'm still overexcited about this.

Last week's result:
(Song: "I Will Wait")
The winner is: Little Mix
Again the cover version won. I find this quite interesting.

Spotlight On: The Bedroom Hour

image: The Bedroom Hour Facebook

Hey guys,
I'm finally writing a "Spotlight On:" post again and I couldn't be more excited. Today's band is from my favourite city and talented as hell.
So without further due, let me put the spotlight on:

The Bedroom Hour - a five piece alternative band from West London.

Quick tip: last minute gift

Hey guys,
this post is very spontaneous and unplanned so I really hope it's not all to messy.

As it's mothers day tomorrow (at least in Germany) I know that some of you are still looking for a last minute gift for your loved Mum.
(That's why you probably have seen tons of guys stealing flowers today.)

Maybe you're as lucky as I am and your Mum enjoys music as much as you do.
So let's solve this problem in a mathematical way:

Cover vs. Original #2

Hey guys,
I couldn't be happier about the feedback I got for the new series "Cover vs. Original". You enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it and voted.

(If you have absolutely now idea what new series I'm talking about, please make yourself familiar with it by reading this.)

So here's the result:
(Song: "I Knew You Were Trouble")
The winner of the debut duel is: Tom Odell.
So the cover version won! Really interesting thing.

Ok, now let's move on to this week's duel.

Get To Know: 20 Riverside

image: 20 Riverside Facebook

Hey guys,
I'm happy to say that another band joined the "Get To Know:" series.
The band is called 20 Riverside and since they well tell you everything you need to know, there's no further information needed.

The HITS-Readers Playlist

Hey guys,
a little while ago I asked you on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to tell me your favourite song.
I asked you because I wanted to a create another playlist, this time dedicated to you, the best readers in the world!

This playlist is also really special because you all have different tastes in music, different genre preferences and different favourite bands/singers.

I find it quite interesting to listen to what you listen to daily, so thank you for letting me know!

Cover vs. Original #1

Hey guys,

besides the "Get To Know:" section I promised you another new series in my last update post. And guess what? Here it is.

As you can already tell by reading the headline the series is called
"Cover vs. Original".

Now what is it all about?
Well, we all have done it before. Yesterday, today or maybe last week.
We all have had a jam session to our favourite song, singing the lyrics and dancing around. That means we all have covered a song.
A song originally written and performed by someone else.

And that's what this series is about - cover and original versions of songs.
I'll be posting two videos in each post - one is the original song being performed by the artists who wrote the song (or let it write) and one is a cover by another artist.
(Of course there is more than just one cover of a song online but I will pick out one that caught my attention.)
Comparing and deciding which version you like better is your part of it.

There will be a poll on the sidebar (left side) where you can vote for the cover or the original. The poll will be open until the next round of "Cover vs. Original" is online, which will be exactly one week later. So there'll be a new part each Wednesday!
