Being happy.

Hey guys,

first of all: I'm so sorry for not posting for a while now. But guess what? I'm back.

Yesterday I watched a video on youtube about being happy. It was made by Louise from Sprinkleofglitter. It inspired me a lot to write a blogpost about how I stay happy or get happy.

The reason why I want to post this so bad is because lately I've seen / read  / heard things that made me really sad. A lot of young people seem to be very unhappy and be in a situation that makes them feel like it won't get better.
And it makes me sad to see how people just hate their lives.

So with those few things I'm about to mention I really want to help them. Even if only one person is going to change something, I'd be totally happy.

Let's start off with the easiest thing you could do to lift your mood up: blast your favourite song, sing the lyrics as loud as you can and dance around in your room like there's no tomorrow. Really - this is such an easy thing to do because I bet you all have a favourite song which can get you dancing. For me it's "We are never ever getting back together" by Taylor Swift right now. I just get crazy whenever I hear it.

The second thing which comes to my mind is: compliment someone. It sounds super cheesy but it works. It will not only make the person happy you compliment, but you will feel great as well.
I remember a woman walking by saying "I love your shoes." - I was so surprised and guess what - my day was made.
So it doesn't matter if you go tell someone they have pretty hair or a great smile when they walk by you or if anyone posts a picture on Twitter and you just comment. The reaction will make you so happy.

Another thing: help someone. This might sound a bit harder to do - but it isn't. Really. Helping someone does not mean you have to give someone thousands of dollars, no. You could simply carry some old woman's shopping bags, you could give clothes you don't wear anymore to the homeless or maybe just smile at a stranger. Maybe they are going through a tough time and your smile would light up their day. So just do it. It feels great.

Look at the great things in your life. I'm 100% sure that you've done lots of great things so far. So think about them, keep them in mind and let your self be proud of them.

Believe in yourself and your dreams. I think out of all the things I just mentioned this is the most important one. You can only be competely happy if you believe in yourself. You've come so far in this life, so why would you want to give up? There are people who would love to be in your position.
Show the world that you have the spirit to do anything you want. Believe in your dreams, work on them and you'll shine.

Ok, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed it.
Be happy!

Keep in mind - you don't need a google account or blog to leave a comment. ;)
I'm really curious what you're going to ask me. :) Let me know if you're doing an Q&A as well - because I'd love to ask you something.

Song introduction: Skeletons.

Hey guys,

I just realized it's been a while since I last introduced a song to you. I think the last song was "Tell Me (where to begin)" by Jim Kroft.

So it's time for another one and it's by the lovely Arkanes. (I once called them lovely in this post so that's why I keep doing that. :D)

The song is called "Skeletons" and well .. it's great. That's why I want to tell you about it.

Listening to a song by the Arkanes is a bit like a drug:
 you first hear it,
you start to dance like you're high (but you're not!),
you listen to it over and over again because you can't stop.

"Skeletons" is a song Chris talked about in the interview. It is one of the songs he is most proud of and I really understand it.
Since I'm that type of listener who would rather listen to a song with a horrible melody than one with horrible lyrics the first thing I notice/love about a song are the words being sung.

And the words being sung in "Skeletons" are ... how would I say? Lovely! Haha, well - the song is just a masterpiece.

My favourite piece of lyrics are the very first words:
"Oh it's quiet strange how someone's life turn upside down."

But all of my regular blog readers know that I'm honest. So I have to tell you the one thing about that song that really sucks:

I only can listen to it on the computer because it's not on iTunes.
ARGH!!!!!

Ok but that's really the only bad thing about the song ;)

Now it's time for you to listen to "Skeletons" right here.

After listening you will be addicted, so let's heal you with putting links to find The Arkanes:

I bet you enjoyed this post ;)

P.s.: Those guys are cool kids! I'm really happy they sometimes read the blog. :))

Rise from every fall.

Picture from: sophiealder.tumblr.com

Hey guys,
today's post is going to be pretty similiar to my last one - it's going to be really serious.

This blog has brought a lot of joy into my life and it's incredible how far it got me within 9 months. It helped me to connect with people, it helped me to share my interests with you, it helped me to find my way into journalism.

But it also let people hear me.
And whenever people hear you they have their opinion about what you do and what you say. Of course they don't always agree with you, but that is what makes it interesting, right?
Hearing other peoples' thoughts is great.

But then there are those people who secretely completely agree with you - but they can't tell you. Why? Well, that is a good question. Some people would say they are jealous. And honestly - I agree.

They would never let you know that they agree with what you do because they are jealous. Jealous maybe because it's not them doing what you do. Maybe because you get attention by someone they want to be recognized by. Or maybe because they wish they had something to present.

I don't know the reasons.

But a few people just can't keep their mean words for themselves. Noo, they just have to get them out and throw them at you.

Sometimes I wonder if they would actually tell you all that stuff they write into the comments or at "secret" websites where they talk about you when they were standing right in front of you. I bet they wouldn't.

The thing is that I'm pretty sure reading mean words about yourself would get everyone down. It's because you do what you love and can't understand how people want to destroy it. It is okay to feel sad as long as you're going to rise from your fall again.

There are always people who enjoy what you do so listen to them and not to the jealous ones who probably don't know what to do with their lives.

P.s.: I know what it feels like to read those words but someone whenever I read such things anyone of the wonderful people seems to know it and just randomly message me sweet words - and that's what I keep on blogging for.

(I want to dedicate this post to a wonderful German youtuber I really look up to: daaruum. So please forgive me writing a few lines in German.)

Liebe daaruum,
Mach weiter so! :)

Thoughts.

Hey guys,

I spent a lot of time wondering whether I should share some deep thoughts with you or not. Since this blog should represent me I decided to do it.

I'm not sure how many of you out there are from Germany and how many of you have an own horse but lately there are many people in several parts of Germany who do cruel things to horses. Many horses suffer from physical and mental pain, some even died.

I honestly don't want to know how afraid those animals were who got harmed so badly because horses are very emotional creatures. And whenever there are news about other horrible things like that my heart just breaks.

How could you harm such helpless animals?

Life as a horse owner isn't easy because there are so many things that could go wrong or that could be bad for your horse. Speaking from my own expierences I can say that I'm constantly hoping that everything is fine with my horse who became my best friend. Now that there are people out there doing things like that I'm constantly worried.

Those things really lead me to a question - what happened to our so called "society"?
Young girls become anorexic because "society" tells them only thin supermodels are pretty. Other people commit suicide because they are desperate and think there is nobody out there who would help them. Mentally handicaped people don't even get a chance to show their real selfs.

And to be honest - most of the people out there don't even care to make a change.

The sad thing is that I don't get surprised when I meet cruel, unfriendly, ignorant people. I get surprised when I meet truly wonderful and nice people. You know, those people who make it worth to carry on because they support you and really mean it from the bottom of their hearts.

Since I'm no pessismist I will keep on believing in good people. I believe that if there are enough people we can turn our "society" into something we can be proud of again.

At this point I want all of the horse owners out there (especially in Germany) to take care of their horses. If you need more details please message me and I will help you to get them. We need to stop those cruel people.

I don't know how we can make this "society" a better one ... but I guess being good to each other would be a great way to start.

Autumn playlist.

Hey guys,

today is a very grey and rainy and windy and not so fine day in the pretty South of Germany so I decided to jump on my couch, drink green tea, burn a few smelly candles and listen to music.

Thinking about what I could share with you today the music inspired me because it made me calm down and just enjoy the weather.

So today - I'm going to share my playlist with you.

Tagged. Nothing else.

Hey guys,

I GOT TAGGED! Yay, this is so exciting! I love getting tagged because I get to answer cool questions. :)

Ok, let me calm down and tell you who tagged me: it was the very nice Lara.
Thank you a lot for tagging me! :)

So as usually there are rules:
- every tagged person has to tell 11 things about themselves
- the person who tagged you asked 11 questions, answer them
- ask 11 questions for the 11 blogs you're going to tag
(the people you tag should have less than 200 subscribers.)
- mention the blog that tagged you but don't tag back

Let's get started:

11 things about me:

1.) Right now I'm really addicted to green tea. I hope that's not bad.

2.) I believe in my dreams no matter what other people say.

3.) My cat is pretty much the most adorable ball of furr I've ever seen.

4.) The colour red became my favourite colour over night... I swear - I woke up and thought "ooooh red is nice!"

5.) Spending time with my horse is kind of a like a cure for everything.

6.) One day I want to be known for what I've done. I don't want to be "famous" .. I just want to be recognized for good things I'm yet to do.

7.) When I was a little girl I wanted to be a princess. My Mum told me their dresses would be uncomfortable - so I stopped wanting to be a princess.

8.) I got the chance to thank my favourite musicians for everything they've done. In person.

9.) I don't like people who don't like animals.

10.) Creativity always hits me in the evening.

11.) I don't like going to parties. I only got to concerts.

Now here are the 11 questions I got asked:

1.) Favourite food?
- Oh, that's a tough question... Well, there's this German recipe we call "Bauerntopf" - it consists of potatoes, different kinds of vegetables and mince. I like it.

2.) Favourite band?

- I bet everyone of you could answer that question :D - it's Martin and James. But my love for The Arkanes and Rooney is huge as well.

3.) What is the most embarassing thing you've ever done?
- Oh dear, I don't know.

4.) Do you have a best friend? If so, how long have you known each other?
Yes, I do. She is wonderful! We've known each other for 6 years now.

5.) Which number do you hate?
- I actually don't like the number 8. It don't know why though.

6.) What's your favourite subject?
- English, all the way!

7.) If you could live somewhere else, where would it be?

- Either London or Berlin. Or Cologne. Or Sevilla. :)

8.) Do you have neighbours that you don't like at all?
- My neighbours are mostly over 65 years old so that makes them all cute and nice. :)

9.) Do you like Facebook?
- Yes, I do. It's a great way to stay in touch with friends who live far away.

10.) What did you do on Halloween?
- I sat at home, ate candy and listened to Taylor Swift's new album.

11.) What do you like to blog about the most?
- Music. Music. Music. And I looove my interview series.

Now here are the questions I want to ask the blogs I tag:

1.) Who is your favourite singer?
2.) How would you describe your blog in three words?
3.) Do you have a role model? If you do, who is it?
4.) What's your favourite thing to do on a Friday night?
5.) Have you ever been to a concert?
6.) What is your favourite thing to wear?
7.) Favourite social networking site?
8.) What is the best thing someone could do to you?
9.) If you had to name yourself - what would be your name?
10.) Is there a language you love more than your mother language?
11.) The question that is most important - how are you? :)

I hope you guys enjoyed this post : )
Happy weekend, everyone!

Hello November.

Hey guys,
hello November.

Isn't it kind of shocking that in exactly 2 months we've already danced into 2013?
I mean .. 2012 is almost over and I'm not rea
lly sure if I'm ready to let it go yet. It's been such a wonderful year for me and I still can't get over all the things I've experienced and all the friendships I made.

It's crazy!

Today is that kind of "all in one" blogpost day, so everything might be a little random.

First of all - THANK YOU - the amount of views my houseinthesand got in October blew me away and motivated me sooo much to make November even better.
Also I got a few more subscribers and regular readers so for all of you "newbies" I'm going to list my favourite blogposts from the last few months. ;)

The most important post - the giveaway!

Right now I'm listening to Taylor Swift's new album "Red" and oh my goodness - I love it. But don't make me choose a favourite song - don't make me choose. (YES, I just used Chris' words from the last interview, haha!)

Ok, if I had to choose I'd probably pick "All Too Well" and "I Knew You Were Trouble.". I guess. But those songs are masterpieces and I can't wait for Taylor to come back to Germany again. (But she neeeeeeeds to let Martin and James open up for her again. That would very wonderful!)

I'm also planning a few big things - not only for my blog but also for my future. And of course (I'm mean as usually) I'm working on my dreams. :) Yeah, I'm constantly doing that.

Alright, I think that's pretty much it. I hope you're going to check out the posts if you haven't already. Make sure to tell me what you think, please. : )
