Interview: Better Looking People With Superior Ideas

Hey guys,
and again I've got a cheeky little interview for you.
This time Nick and Craig who are also known as Better Looking People With Superior Ideas.

Don't give me that look, I'm still writing objectively, it's just their band name.

Nick Norton and Craig Vermeyen, located in Los Angeles (US), started the project of "BLPWSI" in 2010 after playing in the same band for many years.
What started as a jam session in Nick's living room lead to recording their debut E.P (listen below) to playing shows to being interviewed on house in the sand.

See what the two good looking guys have to say about their band name, their musical heroes, Discover cards and a lot more.

Another music tag. Part 2.

Hey guys,
I uploaded part one of the "another music tag" a while ago. Read it - here.
It's a tag full of questions about songs, means it's personal but still includes music.

Like I said in the previous part, this one is a bit more personal so it was harder to find the right songs, but I think I'm pretty content with it now, so enjoy!

Here's part two:

Get To Know: Nathan Carlson

Hey guys,
busy times on house in the sand - the posts about musicians are somehow flying in like there's no tomorrow. And I couldn't be happier about it.

Today it's "Get To Know:" time again where this time Nathan Carlson introduces himself.

Be kind and get to know him.

Review: "Long Way Down" - Tom Odell

Hey guys,
I was honored to be one of the pre-listeners of Tom Odell's long awaited debut album "Long Way Down" to review it on house in the sand.

As the album hits stores in Germany today it's my time to tell you what I think about it.

Tom Odell, the singer/songwriter/piano man, Brits Critics' Choice Award winner and hyped newcomer from Chichester (UK) has been into music since he was a kid and got to learn how to play the piano.
At the young age of just 13 years the multi-talent started writing own songs.
After playing at countless open mics, moving to London and being in a band called Tom and the Tides, he was finally discovered and got signed at ITNO Records (founded by pop star Lily Cooper).

Interview: Shoot The Rabbit

Hey guys,
I recently did a very cool interview with the guys of Shoot The Rabbit, an Indie band from North Wales, UK.
The lads took time to chat with me during their band practice.

But who are 'the lads'?
- David Bollough (lead guitar, vocals)
- Rhodri Davies (drums)
- Matt Norton (bass)
- Adam Taylor (rhythm guitar)

Now learn more about them and see what they've got to say about band practice, their music,  Red Hot Chili Peppers, cats and a lot more.

I got interviewed.

Hey guys,
today I've got a really special post for you.

I got interviewed by the wonderful blogger Rachel from SO SHE DANCES.
Rachel blogs about the wonderful girl things in life and is probably one of the most talented nail art bloggers I met.

Here's a little snippet of what we talked about:

Get To Know: Wullae Wright

Hey guys,
I am very honored to present you a really interesting musician today.
His name is Wullae Wright and he's here to answer my questions.

Enjoy getting to know him. :)

Interview: Puppet Rebellion

Hey guys,
time for another interview.

This time guitarist Craig and singer Simon of the indie band Puppet Rebellion from Manchester sat down to answer my questions.

Puppet Rebellion are:

- Simon Monaghan (singer/front man)
- Chris Carcamo (drums)
- Paul Trochowski (guitars)
- James Halliwell (bass)
- Craig Gibson (guitars)

See what they have to say about their name, the rebellion of getting together, social media, their hometown's bakery and more.

Tour Tip: Tom Odell

Do you have any plans for November yet?
After this post you might have some.

Hey guys,
today I want to share a tour with you which I'm definitely going to be a little part of:

The Tom Odell Tour

Now, who is Tom Odell?

Another music tag. Part 1.

Hey guys,
I was scrolling through my tumblr dashboard last week and found a pretty cool tag: it allows me to be a bit personal but still introduce you some songs I really like.

The tag holds questions that are a bit deeper (and more personal) and some that are just "fun".
To me music is a very emotional thing so sharing some of the songs that have a strong meaning is quite like opening up.
It's a pretty vulnerable thing.

Sadly the tag has no name so I decided to call it "another music tag".
And since it consists of 30 questions I'm going to split it into two parts again.

This would be the more "fun" part, part two will be a bit more personal. :)

Spotlight On: The Plea

 Hey guys,
let me give you one advice that could change your life: trust Jim Kroft and his management when it comes to his support acts.
Seriously.

You probably remember last years concert review of the JK headline show where The Arkanes played first. You probably know that they became one of my favourite bands. (I salute you, Liverpoolians!)

The band I'm going to write about was Jim's support act from the "Lunatic Lullabies Headline Tour 2013" (concert review - here).

Advertise on HITS. [musicians]

Hey guys,
this post I mainly for all the wonderful musicians reading.

A little while ago a company contacted me about advertising on HITS - well, nowadays it is quite normal to see a few advertisements on blogs, so why not?
But soon I realized that putting an ad of something that doesn't relate to the topic of my blog at all would be what the hipster inside us calls a "fail".

But I think my sidebars look boring and definitely need some colours, so I sat down and thought, thought and thought.

Cologne, is a brilliant city.

Hey guys,
so maybe you still remember it - two weeks ago my Mum and I went on a not so little road trip to Cologne for the Tom Odell concert.

Cologne is one of my favourite German cities and this time we had enough time to discover the beauty of the city.
The weather was perfect, sunny but not "oh no my ice cream is melting"-ish hot.

And yeah, since the whole thing of being a blogger and concert goer completely threw me into photography, of course my camera did not leave me for a second.
(It's kind of a disease, isn't it?)

Without further due, let me just show you a few impressions:
