Music tips: Emma Harrop, Dos Ringos and Under A Banner

Hey guys,

today I would like to introduce you to three interesting music projects.
You can find some details about the artists, their sound and one song you should listen to.

Hope you enjoy and let me know if you would like more of these posts.

Emma Harrop

Emma Harrop is a singer/songwriter from London, England.
Before becoming a solo artist, she played in a girl rock band called My Heroine.
Her influences are artists like Amy Winehouse, Gavin Degraw, Kate Nash and The Beatles, just to name a few.

Just like Emma's influences the range of genres she mixes into her sound is massive: melodically the pop elements shine through, lyrically she marches into a honest folk direction and vocally she has the soulful, slightly r'n'b-ish traits.

Dos Ringos

Dos Ringos, for those of you who know some bits of Spanish it's already obvious, is a duo from North Webster, Indiana.
The duo consists of Trent Harris and Scot Heminger, two life-long friends. They both write songs and play the guitar.

For their album they wrote and played everything themselves and did the recoriding plus engineering in Trent's little home studio.

To define their sound we should use the word Americana - it's country-ish and it's blues-y, at time even up beat enough to be rock-ish.

Under A Banner

Under A Banner is also a multiple genre inspired band. Mixing alternative rock and folk gives them the options to play either full electric or acoustic.
The band is Adam (guitar, vocals), Tim (drums, percussion), Si (bass, backing vocals) and Jonathan (guitar).

The guys have supported New Model Army, have had their music used by the charity Safe World For Women and have been played on BBC Introducing.
