Spotlight On: Sound Of The Sirens

Hey guys,

Folk rock, a genre that almost always gets me. I don't know what exactly it is about it that really fascinates me, but it just does.
If the folk rock sound includes beautiful harmonies it's safe to say that the band has already won me over.

Sound Of The Sirens absolutely represent everything I look for in a folk rock duo.
Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood are the two ladies behind the duo from Exeter, UK

I just recently found their album 'A Long Way To Fall' and their newest EP 'Under The Stars' in my letter box and got fairly excited.

After listening to the songs I already realized that there's not a single let down or disappointment included.

Clever arrangements, at times very big including a lot of different elements, catchy hooks, foot stomping rhythms and at times very laid back and stripped down melodies.
But the one thing that is always present is a brilliant and impressive vocal performance; both individual voices soak you in and catch your full attention but once Abbe and Hannah start blend their voices you will stop doing whatever you are doing just so you can listen to their beautiful, strong, emotional and breathtaking harmonies.

Besides the sound, the ladies also know how to write the lyrics of the sirens. Significant, honest and powerful words underline the convincing sound and create the perfect base for incredible songs.

Have a listen your self!
(But be careful, you will get addicted. I warned you!)
