Hey guys!
As much as I enjoyed our Birthday Countdown in February, I'm really happy that we're back to the normal business where I get to write about a bigger variety of things.
I'm having a lovely time reviewing different albums, discovering more new and fantastic music and most importantly - sharing it with you.
Today I'd like to share a tune with you which absolutely deserves to be our "Song Of The Day",
"Retrofire" by The Open Feel.
The Open Feel are a dreamy alternative rock band from Los Angeles, US.
Consisting of only Katie Harris (vocals, guitars) and Tom Brayton (bass,
drums) the band should be called a duo but due to the full band sound
it's definitely right to call The Open Feel a band.
They have been very busy lately and just recently contacted me saying they have a new single.
At this point, thanks Katie and Tom - it's always a pleasure hearing from you.
Katie seems to be the woman of soft and enchanting rock sounds.
Her strong, yet not too pushy voice works absolutely well with the catchy guitar riff.
The rhythm section, which is played by Tom, supports the song in a fantastic way.
Backing vocals are clevery used to underline the lead vocals, this creates an atmospheric scene.
It's a refreshing and brilliant alt-rock song!
I've said it the last time I've reviewed a The Open Feel song and I'll say it again - their music leaves you wanting more.
