Hey guys,
How are your new years resolutions doing? Are they already forgotten or are you still working on them?
I'm honest - I didn't even try to set up that many resolutions. If I want to change something I try to do it instantly, not in a new year.
But there was one project I learned about December 29th.
The project '365 Photos'.
The name gives it away, doesn't it? This project is all about taking one photograph a day to document your year.
I wanted to do it because I love having events captured on photographs, because I wanted to learn more about my camera and push myself to my limits creatively.
So I started on January 1st and am still going.
Because sharing all 365 at the end of the year would be impossible, I decided to show you a few shots every once in a while.
Hope you enjoy!
January 4th, got my phone case that day. I still love it because the cat on it looks a lot like mine. Except mine is not that ... fluffy.
January 6th, January was all about setting up the 'Birthday Countdown'. I think I never worked that hard on any project.
January 28th, this year's first month has probably been the sunniest I remember. Perfect for walks.
February 1st, first gig of the year. Jim Kroft supported by elias. Oh that was a good one.
February 2nd, my favourite shot so far. The editing I did on this photo was adding my signature.
February 6th, busy day working at a gig. Brilliant one though.
March 6th, had to photograph Tom Odell that day. Still very happy about the results.
March 9th, an owl with a flower crown. Pretty self-explanatory.
March 22nd, ok I cheated here. Obviously didn't take that photograph myself.
April 8th, polaroid fun with The Arkanes.
April 21st, some days the only thing to do is to hit your head against a wall. Or a pillow and sleep.
Alright, let's leave it like that.
During these four months I already matured a lot in photography. I learned more about lighting, about the settings on my camera and my way of looking at things has changed.
What do you think about this project?
Please keep in mind that you don't need a new year to start things like that. You could also document your year from April 23rd 2014 until April 23rd 2015. ;)
Thank you for reading!

I love this kind of projects. They just remind you of the little things to make you happy, don't they? I'm still keeping my happiness jar, that's also great. Whenever something good happens, whether it's a small or a big thing, I write it down on a piece of paper and put that into my jar. I want to do the 365 photos thing as well though. And I want to try 100 happy days, that's another project I read about on a blog. I feel like I need to remind myself of how good everything really is in general even with shitty things happening. I feel like these projects keep you from letting shitty events bring you down.
ReplyDeleteExactly! Couldn't have said it better. I also keep a jar of happiness and it's always an amazing feeling to go through the notes in there.
DeleteDefinitely try and do those projects, they're fun and they really help a lot in so many aspects. Good luck! And make sure to share them someday ;) Thanks for the comment! x
i love your 28th of January photo! :))) I don't really have the urge to do this photo project. I have never even accomplished any project :( how sad. anyway, i'll try to accomplish one after i graduate from college :) by the way, i keep a jar of happiness too! :D The feeling is undefinable when i open my jar at the end on the year. and it's so awesome! :) keep going with this project. it will do good on you :) God bless!~!
