Day 22: Shoot The Rabbit | #HITSBC17

Hey guys!

So, the main goal of this countdown was to introduce you to a bunch of new artists and bands in a personal setting.
Of course we wanted to celebrate our fifth birthday, but in a way that would allow everyone to benefit from it.

With the lineup being a mixture of familiar and new faces, I am convinced that you have the chance to find at least one new favourite.
(Probably more though.)

Things are slowly but surely coming to an end, but we still have a few gems ready to be discovered by you,
so check this out!

What is #HITSBC17?
HITSBC17 stands for house in the sand's Birthday Countdown 2017.
Throughout the entire month of February, we are going to celebrate house in the sand's fifth birthday.
(Because why celebrate on one day, if you can celebrate for an entire month, right?)
With the support from some of the finest artists and bands around, each day in February will be filled with an exclusive performance just for us.

Who is performing today?
Shoot The Rabbit.
They are a four piece band from North Wales, UK. Their sound is best described as indie rock with alternative elements.

The band got together in 2008 and has been making music ever since. Their EPs "Sticky", "Scribble" and "Heavy Eyelids" got them a loyal fanbase, a lot of positive reviews and comparisons to bands such as Radiohead and The Cure.

Shoot The Rabbit are:
David Bullough (vocals, guitar)
Adam Taylor (guitar)
Matt Norton (bass)
Rhodri Davies (drums)

What needs to be said about this performance?
It's their return! Things have been a bit quiet for the band in the past few months, but they are back and are treating us with a new song.
Not only is it a fabulous track, but it's also a super entertaining video recorded in the ever so funny Rabbit manner. You're gonna love it!

Alright, go ahead and check out Shoot The Rabbit performing their new song "Allergies" for us.

Who deserves a thank you?
The rabbits deserve a mega thank you for joining our countdown again and for being overall fabulous! It's just so cool to have you guys as a part of the HITS gang. (which is something I just made)
Cheeeers!

Day 19: Shoot The Rabbit | #HITSBC16

Hey guys!

Today's bit of the countdown is a very special one.
It's one with a cause and I hope that I'll be able to make a small change with it.

Please read this post with an open mind and consider being active.

Let's go!

What is #HITSBC16?
HITSBC16 stands for house in the sand's Birthday Countdown 2016.
Throughout the entire month of February, we will be celebrating this website's fourth birthday.
One artist/band a day is going to wish us a happy birthday and then perform a song exclusively for this sweet occasion.

Since their house in the sand debut in Summer 2013, the band has been featured regularly and became a part of the HITS gang.

What is special about this video?
It's performed by bassist Matt because all band members have been busy.
Matt recorded a cover of "I Can't Wait To Be King" of Disney's The Lion King. He inserted the most adorable animal photos you've ever seen.

And with that video we want to send a message and challenge you to do something.
I am massive animal lover and there's nothing on this planet that upsets me more than animal cruelty.
I will never understand what makes people think that animals are worth less than humans, that's nonsense.
I want to encourage people to help make animal rights a normal thing.

The best way to support animals starts by doing research about what's wrong with how things are.
Learn more about animals and learn more about the cruelty.

It is so easy to help and make a change - you can either donate money to your local animal shelter or an organisation such as Green Peace. You can give becoming vegan a chance by starting out with one vegan meal a week.
A fact is - you can make a change if you want to.

Give animals the voice they don't have.

And of course, enjoy Matt's performance of "I Can't Wait To Be King".

Who do we need to thank?
The entire band for being so wonderfully supportive and lovely.
But we definitely need to thank Matt for recording and creating this video and helping us send a message to everyone who's reading this.
You guys are very wonderful!

What can we do now?
If you've enjoyed this article, please help us reach more people by sharing it along with the hashtag #HITSBC16.
Everybody who uses the hashtag on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram has the chance to win something lovely once the countdown is over.

I hope you enjoyed day 19!

Day 24: Shoot The Rabbit | #HITSBC15

Hey guys!

I'm always really happy when bands and solo acts return to house in the sand after being featured once.
It just seems like they enjoy what's happening on here and that's a very nice compliment. Some of the bands became lovely friends which is even nicer. Today we have such kind of band performing for us.

What is the Birthday Countdown though? Throughout the entire month of February, one artist/one band a day is going to wish house in the sand a happy birthday and then perform a song exclusively for us.

Today our favourite Welsh lads, Shoot The Rabbit are here.

Shoot The Rabbit are a four piece band from North Wales, UK.

Since their house in the sand debut in Summer 2013, the band has been featured every now and then and slowly but surely became a big part of HITS.
Therefore I'm ridiculously happy to have them back on the countdown. Go ahead and enjoy David, Matt and Adam performing "No Bugs Or Fleas". (Make sure to watch the bloopers as well!!!)

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Rabbits for their fantastic video. It's always a pleasure to have you on the blog and I can't wait to meet you, hopefully very soon!

Please go ahead and share this performance with your friends by using the hashtag #HITSBC15.
