Song Of The Day: "Elisabeth" by The Rose Affair

Hey guys!

As a blogger, you spend quite a bit of time optimizing features.

Of course you want your audience to enjoy what you write, so you do research, compare different features, reactions and the readers' feedback to find out what works for your audience.

Luckily I know which of my features seem to be appreciated and of course, I'll write those with a lot of joy.
The "Song Of The Day" features work pretty well; they're simple but they do a great job.

And I'm very excited to present a beautiful song for you today.

The Rose Affair are a four piece band based in Cambridge, UK.
Their sound is influenced by acts such as Jeff Buckley, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Smiths, Johnny Cash and a lot more.
Combining those influences with their very own sound, The Rose Affair can be entitled as a refreshing alternative band.

The Rose Affair are:
Lucas Jones (vocals, guitar)
Matt Jones (guitar)
Tom Brown (bass)
Jacob Pett (drums)

"Elisabeth" starts off in a very calm setting; vocals and guitar control the first bit of the track. They set a very melancholic, yet slightly dreamy scene.
Lucas' vocals are calming but still have a lot of energy.
Going hand in hand with the vocals, guitarist Matt knows how to highlight the vulnerability of the song.

The drums bring the song to life, give it more intensity and underline the emotions of the song. The bassline holds all elements together and is the perfect example for how clever the band arranges their songs.

Now go and listen to "Elisabeth" yourself and let the song take you away.

  1. You are right, I really enjoy the 'song of the day'. It's easy and the songs you coose are always great. I fall in love with them, just when I hear the first chord. :)
And the great thing about these posts are, that you don't only give the reader a song and tell him to listen to it. No, you make the song interesting by introducing the band first.
You are right, the song is calming but also powerful.
You've got an exquisite taste of music. Lovely. :)
    Greetings,
