Day 3: Lee MacDougall | #HITSBC16

Hey guys!

And it's day 3 of my favourite music month.
I can't believe how much support we are getting online. It's the best feeling to receive messages saying that someone loves this idea and that they enjoyed the music as much as I do.

So if you have anything to say about this campaign, please do so.

What is #HITSBC16?
HITSBC16 stands for house in the sand's Birthday Countdown 2016.
Throughout the entire month of February, we will be celebrating this website's fourth birthday.
One artist/band a day is going to wish us a happy birthday and then perform a song exclusively for this sweet occasion.

Who is performing today?
Lee MacDougall.
He is a singer/songwriter originally from Grimsby, UK who is now based in Berlin, Germany.
To genrefy his music one would use folk-pop. To describe his style you'd have to use the fancier words; his personal song writing style is very vivid and creates relatable songs.

It was Kurt Cobain who made Lee ask his parents for a guitar but it was a friend who then showed him how to use the instrument.
Ever since he started playing, he hasn't stopped. Moving to London at the age of 21 was one of those defining moments in Lee's career.
He started playing at open mic nights and built himself a loyal fanbase.

What is special about this video?
It's in German. When I went backstage to film with Lee he told me he'd do a German rap medley. I remember being completely confused and then completely impressed by his fantastic German. Even if you don't understand all the German bits, I'm sure you'll love this performance we filmed before Lee supported Jamie Lawson in Stuttgart last November.

So here we go, please enjoy Lee MacDougall's tribute to German rap music!

Who do we need to thank?
Lee himself, of course! It was really lovely to film this performance and it was so easy to arrange this little session which is very much appreciated.
Big up's Lee, keep it up that way!

What can we do now?
If you enjoyed this article, please help us reach more people by sharing it along with the hashtag #HITSBC16.
Everybody who uses the hashtag on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram has the chance to win something amazing once the countdown is over.

I hope you enjoyed day 3!

Video Interview: Lee MacDougall

Hey guys!

What a month this is!
I'm actually running around like a mad woman to film, photograph and write about some of the finest music in the world.
It's so much fun and it's always so exciting to share the content with you.

Last week I went to Stuttgart to see the wonderful Jamie Lawson live.
You know how I always check out support acts beforehand, and so I found out about Lee MacDougall.
Lee MacDougall is a singer/songwriter from Grimsby, England.

His music can best be described as acoustic, folk-pop with vivid, storytelling lyrics. Lee's songwriting stands out because of the way he's almost directing movies with his words.

Releases:
- If Walls Could Talk (EP)
- Falling In Love For The Last Time (EP)
- Stay (EP)
- Busk Till Dawn (album)

Now go and check out what Lee tells us about getting ready for tour, how Kurt Cobain made him want to be a musician, his next record and a lot more!

Many thanks to Lee for taking the time to arrange and do this interview!
