Song Of The Day: "Morning" by Alx Green

Hey guys!

I don't know if you've noticed, but HITS has been on a bit of a hold.
A lot of freelance work came up - and I don't want to complain about that, ever.

But it meant that I didn't have enough time to sit down and write posts.
Well, I could've written posts, but none of you would've enjoyed the nonsense that would've come out of my brain after a long day, trust me.

But - it's Monday and everything is back on beast mode - so let's enjoy another week of new music together.
We're starting with a track we are super sure you'll love.

- Song Of The Day -
"Morning" by Alx Green

Alx Green is a singer/songwriter from Chester, UK.
His sound combines modern Folk with classic Blues elements.

He released multiple demo EPs before recording and releasing his first studio EP, "My Way Home", in 2016, and then releasing follow-up EP "For Today" in March 2018.

Touring Europe constantly releasing music got him the attention and support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Merseyside and many more.

After dropping everything to fully focus on his music, Alx started to make himself a name, touring over 22 cities on one tour and shaping his craft.

"Morning" is Alx's first stand alone single released via his own record label.
It was recorded at Edge Recording Studios in Cheshire, a studio in which acts such as The Script, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Lana Del Rel and many more have recorded before.

It's described as a song "with a modern take on classic singer/songwriter music, drawing influneces from alternative blues, jazz and pop".

And "Morning" is exactly that - a modern track with very clear and classic influences.
It presents itself in a calming and thoughtful manner, kind of how you'd imagine a beautiful morning.

The organ, which is making up the base of the track, might take you by surprise, right before it takes you on a journey. It guides you through the song whilst the percussions take over your subconsciousness, leaving you tapping your foot without even realising.

Alx's voice however never loses control over where the song is headed and does it seemingly effortlessly. The vocals and instruments collide in the most beautiful and powerful way, allowing every element to shine the way it deserves to.

It's a song that could easily accompany your mornings - and not because of the title, but because of the atmosphere it creates.

Video Interview: Alx Green

Hey guys!

Every now and then musicians are in my area and stop by to create some content.
It's actually quite fun to walk around my home town to find cool spots for photo/video sessions.

Growing up, nothing exciting ever happened in this area (in my opinion anyways) and so to finally bring some of the excitement into town feels pretty cool.

But of course I don't keep cool stuff to myself - instead I come here and share everything that I find brilliant with you guys.

And without getting to emotional, just know that it really makes me happy to have this platform where I can talk about music whenever I like. It's pretty darn cool.

But now, let me introduce you to Alx Green.

Alx Green is a singer/songwriter from Chester, UK.
His sound combines modern Folk with classic Blues elements.
He released multiple demo EPs before recording and releasing his first studio EP in 2016, and then releasing follow-up EP "For Today" in March 2018.

Touring Europe constantly releasing music got him the attention and support of BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Merseyside and many more.

After dropping everything to fully focus on his music, Alx started to make himself a name, touring over 22 cities on one tour and shaping his craft.

During his latest Europe tour, Alx stopped by in the area for a brilliant performance.

We ran around in the boiling heat to find a great location to film - and once we did, we sat down to chat about his latest EP, tour, Social Media, a lot of sand and a lot more.

Watch our interview here:

Thank you to Alx for being such fun to work with - what a delight it was even though it was so warm out there.

Video Of The Day: "Downhill From Here" by Alx Green

Hey guys!

When you're working on your own and also for yourself, you sometimes lose sight of what you're working towards.
It's a natural cycle that you sometimes just slip into without really noticing.

As I've mentioned in a previous post, a lot of times it's the music which really pulls me out of this rather unpleasant cycle.
All it takes to spark the flame, is a song you really want to write about and share with everyone who is interested.

And that's why we have another brilliant song for you today.

Video Of The Day:
- "Downhill From Here" by Alx Green -

Alx Green is a singer/songwriter from Chester, UK.
His sound combines modern Folk with classic Blues elements.
He released multiple demo EPs before recording and releasing his first studio EP in 2016.

Touring Europe in 2015 and constantly releasing music, got him the attention and support of BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Merseyside and many more.

After dropping everything to fully focus on his music, Alx started to make himself a name, touring over 22 cities on one tour and shaping his craft.

Alx is now here with a brand new music video for his song "Downhill From Here".
I sometimes like having songs for certain seasons - even though any song can be heard at any given time of the year. Some songs just really suit a certain time of year.

"Downhill From Here" is the perfect song for a day in Spring; the melancholic melody is light enough to not weigh you down. Alx' vocals are as smooth as ever and have a calming effect on the listener.

The guitar work on this track is absolutely brilliant and I'm definitely lacking words.
It combines the prettiest finger picking with enchantingly expressive percussions and beautiful strumming.

You'll just have to check it out yourself, you won't be disappointed.

It's music like this which makes running house in the sand such a joyful task.

Day 5: Alx Green | #HITSBC17

Hey guys!

Of course this countdown consists of a lot of planning, organsing and scheduling.
It starts by finding the perfect lineup and continues to be a long thought process when it comes to the order of performances.

For today, a Sunday, I wanted something you could enjoy whilst having a cup of tea (or coffee) (or some gin). You know, something that would make your Sunday comfy and relaxed.

Because that's honestly the only thing I want my Sundays to be like.

And.. you know... I think I nailed it when I picked our first Sunday video.

What is #HITSBC17?
HITSBC17 stands for house in the sand's Birthday Countdown 2017.
Throughout the entire month of February, we are going to celebrate house in the sand's fifth birthday.
(Because why celebrate on one day, if you can celebrate for an entire month, right?)
With the support from some of the finest artists and bands around, each day in February will be filled with an exclusive performance just for us.

Who is performing today?
Alx Green.
He is a singer/songwriter from Chester, UK.
Alx' sound combines modern Folk with classic Blues elements.
He released multiple demo EPs before recording and releasing his first studio EP in 2016.

Touring Europe in 2015 and constantly releasing music, got him the attention of BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Merseyside and many more.

After dropping everything to fully focus on his music, Alx started to make himself a name, touring over 22 cities on one tour and shaping his craft.

We are convinced he is one to watch, so make sure to get Alx Green on your radar.

What needs to be said about this performance?
It's all I could be asking for on a Sunday.
It's Folky, it's Bluesy and it makes me want to cuddle up on the couch and put it on repeat.
I'm a super sure a lot of you Folk lovers out there are going to find a new favourite today.
It's okay, you can thank me later.

So let's dive into Alx Green's performance of his song "Love Again".

Where can we find Alx Green online?
Website | Twitter | Facebook | Soundcloud | YouTube | Instagram

Who deserves a thank you?
Of course Alx deseres a huge thank you for getting involved and being so easy to work with- an absolute delight.
Another big thank you goes to Robbie who recommended Alx and therefore has done us all a huge favour.

What can we do now?
If you enjoyed this video and post, please help us reach more people.
